Elijah Rashad

The multi-talented and gifted Elijah Rashad was born in Memphis, TN on March 28, 1994, to lovely parents, Calvin and Lenora Johnson. Since the age of 4, he found his passion for music ministry in the church. His family knew that it was for certain a gift from God. While he was younger, Mr. Rashad started joining choirs everywhere that he could; this includes Breath of Life SDA Church, Power House C.O.G.I.C., Word of Faith Christian Academy, Southwind Middle and High School. Nothing could stop him from praising God.

After he graduated from Southwind High School in 2012, he got enrolled into Oakwood University the following year, fall 2013. There, he pursued his education in Theology and Music. For two years, he was the music director for Oakwood’s AYM, Adventist Youth Ministry. If you had tuned in to Oakwood LIVE on Friday nights, you were able to catch him in action as he leads out praise and worship, one of the many jobs he does best. Elijah proudly walked across the stage of Von Braun Center graduates of Oakwood University’s Class of 2018, on May 12th.

The world has experienced his ministry in music countless times. Inviting his peers and the crowd in worship to magnify the Lord with him is what he lives for. To see the cries of God’s children in worship is what brings him joy. Whether he is singing or preaching to God’s people, God is forever in the center of it all. God has blessed this man tremendously time after time and he cannot stop testifying about it.
